I hope to serve as a design authority and trusted guide. As someone who has been through it - all of it - from:
Contemplating leaving a corporate job for a creative career path
Making the leap an pursuing an artistic life
Touring and considering art schools, learning the foundations of design
Narrowing my focus to interior design
Deciding between learning design on my own from the internet versus studying at an educational institution
Creating a design portfolio and becoming a national champion while in interior design graduate school
Launching my own residential interior design and hospitality interior design business
Winning interior design awards
And that is just the interior design side of it!
I also am deeply familiar with the inner workings that it takes to become a designer, and embrace your artistic soul.
From experiencing self-doubt, insecurity, and fear

To amplifying your hope, optimism, and self-confidence
And so much in between

an introductionTaking that leap to pursue interior design, can feel overwhelming at first.
There is so much to learn. So many rabbit holes to go down. Where do you start? Don’t worry, I’ve got you!
I’ve been there. Maybe you are pondering whether to pursue a career in interior design… or wondering whether you can learn how to do interior design yourself… so that you can design your own home, or your own office, or any space.
Questions you may be asking yourself right now are:
· What is the difference between interior design and interior architecture and interior decorating?
· How do I decide if I just want to design spaces for me, for my own enjoyment, possibly as a hobby, or side-hustle, versus make it my full career?
· Have you always loved looking at the window displays of a store and wondered who gets to design those?
Or walked into a hotel and felt a special feeling – like “oooh, I wish I could live here”?
· Do you ever walk into a room or see an interior in a magazine or online and think “wow, this looks nice” but not necessarily know why it looks good or how to create it yourself?
How do I create interior design from scratch?
If you are wanting to design or redesign your own home, some questions you may be wondering are:
· Where do I start when designing my own space?
· Is there a way to learn interior design online, from the comfort of my home?
· Is there a way to learn interior design through online programs, without having to go through a big institution with unfamiliar (sometimes cold-personality) teachers, and years of schooling?
· I like colors and textures, but how do I know if I am good enough to actually design my own home?
· I know what I want my home to feel like, emotionally, but don’t know how to create that visually (yet!)
· Is designing your own home fun? Are there a lot of logistics and is there a simple way to design, without the headache and stress that seems to be included on HGTV?
· How much does it cost to hire a professional interior designer?
· What are the pros and cons, the advantages and disadvantages of hiring an interior designer to design my home?
If you are considering becoming an interior designer, some more specific questions you may be wondering are:
· Do I need a degree in order to become an interior designer?
· Is there a way to taste test, test out if I like interior design before committing to a full design program?
· Is it better to take random design classes here and there or enroll in a planned out interior design course, a program?
· What does an interior designer do? What does an interior designer do in their day to day?
· How long does it take to become an interior designer? How many years of school does it require to become a designer?
· Do I need a degree to become a residential designer or a hospitality designer (someone who designs hotels, restaurants, and bars) or a retail designer? What if I want to design museums, or schools, or other institutional, large public spaces?
· How do I know if I want to work for a small boutique interior design firm or a medium-sized hospitality design firm or start my own design business?
· Do I need any skills to apply for an interior design program? Do I need a portfolio of artwork?
· How do you make sure that you are considering the right things when selecting a school for interior design?
· Should you get an associates degree, a bachelors degree, a masters degree in interior design?
· Is it worth it to get an interior design degree? Financially, emotionally? Will people take me seriously if it is not an architectural degree?
· What will I learn in an interior design academic program versus an architecture program?
· What are the best schools for interior design? And why?
· Are there any reputable online interior design schools so that I could learn virtually, from the comfort of my own home, and not have to move cities to learn?
If you are wondering about any of those,
way to go you!
All of those questions are a perfect place to start. You’ve just taken the first step to becoming an interior designer: becoming curious!
No need to stress. I will help guide you through considering each of these questions in my upcoming blog posts.
I haven’t created all of the content yet, so sign up for my newsletter (at the bottom of this page) if you want to stay tuned and in the loop when more content drops. And feel free to follow me on Instagram and social media in the meantime.
I am just starting a podcast too, which you can watch on YouTube and Spotify. On the podcast, I’ll be sharing some of my thoughts related to interior design, somatic healing, rebalancing energy, connecting with your inner self, and more. I’ll also be having deep heart-felt conversations with guests about times that they listened to their intuition, how they take care of their inner selves, and so much more.
If any of this speaks to you, and you like my way of speaking, my way of teaching, (thank you ♡ btw) I invite you to explore my online interior design course offerings. I would be honored to be your teacher and trusted guide.
I use the word “guide”, or coach, because at the end of the day, you are the one steering the ship. You are the one on the journey to find your calling, to experience what lights you up in this world:
~ Maybe it is designing interiors. ~ Maybe it is connecting to your inner world, your truest sense of self. ~
Either way, you are already on your way, by simply being here, right now. No matter what, when you move onto the next part of your day, I hope you feel:
A little more connected to your self. A bit more reassured.
& I hope you remember:
You can trust yourself. At every step along the way. ✨
learn to embrace yourself & your unique creative process
Make Room for Growth
Give yourself space and time to develop into the person you want to become. Growth, especially self-growth, takes tender time, just like the growth of a flower.
And I know, from first hand experience, that sounds easier said than done, so I wanted to share some practical, actual tools that I use to practice giving myself more time and space to grow into the person that I mean MEANT to become. I hope these tools help you too.
Blog post coming soon. In the meantime, you can sign up for my newsletter to stay tuned.
Turn Intention Into Action
Coming soon: Turning intention into action can start with asking intentional questions. As it relates to design, you may be wondering “how do I become an interior designer?” or “what is the best interior design school?” or “how do I create a portfolio for applying to an interior design program?” or “how do I go from an idea to an interior design?”
All of these questions are spot on. I answer these questions, as well as provide tips on how to start taking actionable steps, in my upcoming design blog post. Sign up for my newsletter to stay tuned.
Small Steps Create Big Shifts
Small steps towards your goals add up. Sometimes the hardest part of any project isn’t creating the timelines or managing the budget, instead, it is the inner work. It is carving out time for sacred practices. Practices that help you tune inward and create big external shifts. By starting with small subtle shifts. Soothing and tending to what is going on inside of us. When we do that, we can do anything.
